sound healing
-
using sound for healing is rooted in cultures and traditions across the world. drumming, chanting, singing, mantra and playing instruments has been at the heart of healing rituals and ceremonies for thousands of years, aligned with the felt suggestion that everything in the universe, including the human body, is vibrational in nature.
crystal quartz singing bowls are made from 99.99% pure quartz crystal, a master healer and energy amplifier, fused with precious gems and minerals. they produce pure, resonant tones that we hear audibly, but also feel and receive deep in the physical body. the bowls induce the experience of profound relaxation, gently engaging the parasympathetic nervous system ~ the home of our rest and healing, as well as the theta brainwave state, a dreamlike, meditative state relating to the subconscious mind and where memories, emotions and sensations are stored.
coarse, dense or fractured energy softens, transmutes, is metabolised as the sounds enmesh with our being. inner wisdom may arise and different frequencies experienced, as well as the spontaneous arrival of love, compassion, joy and equanimity. for me, sound healing is a journey of remembering ~ regathering of the scattered parts of ourselves, bearing witness anew to our wholeness and returning to peace.
reflexology
-
deeply relaxing, calming and restorative, reflexology involves the gentle stimulation of reflex areas found in the feet and hands, reflexes we consider to mirror the organs and systems of the body.
when we undergo stress of any kind, the efficiency of our body’s systems is involuntarily reduced and stagnated, leading to all kinds of malaise ~ anxiety, sleep issues, inertia, digestive problems, increased stress, hormonal imbalances, reduced immunity and much more.
we render the body profoundly relaxed, gently coaxing it to activate its own healing responses. applying pressure to reflexes, the resultant stimulation of the neural pathways also induces physiological change in the body. the feet tell the story of what is present in that moment and it is such an honour for me to meet you wherever that may be and to gently guide and hold you as as you move towards balance.

meditation
-
my heart belongs to the contemplative meditative realm. and when i speak of meditation, i don’t speak to the dogma, to the right or wrong and the good or bad narratives that swirl around this word, nor to the idea of arriving at any kind of destination.
i speak to the simple essence of sitting, of listening. being, laid bare. spending time quietly, in honour of ~ and offering to ~ our selves. accompanied by the essences of ease, lightness, softness, compassion and play. to me it’s about gentle inquiry, allowing and surrender.
i work with samatha and vipassana meditation, guided meditations and yoga nidra.
breathwork
-
two broad lineages comprise this powerful practice. the first involves connected breathing and there are many different approaches within this sphere, but the thread that runs through them all is the nature of a continuous breath ~ inhale seamlessly melds into exhale, exhale folds into inhale and continues in this way, without pause or control. this kind of practice is more psycho-somatic in nature, touching emotional and psychological issues and facilitating the release of energetic blockages and trauma stored in the body.
the second comprises breath control and a host of differing practices and techniques that fall within this sphere. this kind of work engages the physiological body, it can feel perhaps more corporeal, influencing nervous system resilience, energy levels, oxygenation, inflammation, circulation, mental clarity and relaxation, which in turn also affect the psychological and emotional body. breathwork is beautifully accessible and limitless ~ lineages, practices and techniques weave together in differing ways and combine beautifully to have a profound impact on mind, body and soul, often within a matter of minutes or even seconds.
yin yoga
-
inherently gentle, yin yoga is a slower, grounding, more recumbent yogic practice in which poses are held between 2-6 minutes. entering the poses, we softly coax ourselves to stillness and from this place we pause, offering up to our ~ selves ~ the gentlest suggestion of presence and introspection. mind and body begin to meld and deep physiological and energetic releases arise as the poses naturally deepen and develop over time. from a bodily perspective, this is the practice in which we work with the less elastic tissues of the body ~ the deep connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and bones ~ restoring their strength, vitality and suppleness.
